ABOUT BARCAS VILLAS
Barcas Villas: A Modern Balance of Privacy and Social Interaction
Barcas Villas is a nature-integrated living environment that synthesizes the feeling of a "refuge" with the concept of "social interaction"—two elements frequently sought in modern residential architecture. The project is built upon a flexible spatial strategy that responds to both the user's desire for inner tranquility and their habits of outward-facing hospitality.
Architectural Language and Massing
The structure is conceived as a modern and minimalist interpretation of the traditional gable roof form. The facade design, combining the simplicity of white with the warmth of wood, allows the building to exhibit a calm yet strong stance within the landscape. Slits in the mass, expansive glass surfaces, and semi-open areas (pergolas) blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing natural light to filter deep into the structure. Gallery voids and skylights enhance the volumetric richness of the space while strengthening the relationship with the sky.
Spatial Organization: Fluid Ground Floor
The ground floor is designed as the social heart of the house. A spacious hall welcomes the user at the entrance, connecting to the living room, kitchen, and dining area with a transparent flow. The open-plan layout, enriched by focal points such as the fireplace, opens directly to a wide veranda and a heated swimming pool. This layering transports the interior to the garden, offering flexible living space suitable for seasonal use. Additionally, the en-suite guest rooms configured on this floor provide the opportunity to host guests without disturbing the homeowners' privacy, supporting the "high privacy" principle in the functional scheme.
First Floor: Private Life and Retreat
The first floor is dedicated entirely to the family's private living areas. The master bedroom, dominating the view and complete with a dressing area and en-suite bathroom, offers a complete comfort zone for the user. The study and children's rooms located on this floor are configured as calm, concentration-focused spaces, removed from the social noise of the house. The upper-floor terrace creates an alternative open-air experience at a higher elevation, projecting over the veranda below and orienting itself toward the view.
Conclusion
Beyond technical and aesthetic decisions, Barcas Villas promises its users a "living" home. Service areas—ranging from the garage to technical rooms, pantry to laundry—are thought out to the finest detail to silently support the comfort of daily life in the background, while a spacious, luminous, and nature-respectful architectural language maintains its dominance in the foreground.
